According to StatMuse, Brunson averaged 28.7 points, 6.7 assists, and 3.6 rebounds in 77 games during the 2023-24 season. He earned a selection to play in his first All-Star game.
Frazier Compares Brunson To His Ex-teammate
Brunson has achieved several milestones throughout his professional career. Most notably, the Knicks appointed Brunson as the 36th captain in franchise history. Frazier mentioned that Brunson reminds him of his former teammate Willis Reed due to similarities in playing style and behavior.
“I did a video for him, but I wasn’t able to at the induction when he was inducted as a captain. But I told him he reminds me a lot of Willis Reed. They’re both lefties; they have tenacious work ethics, they’re always sharing and caring, and they have a team-first concept. They’re always thinking of the team and not themselves.” Frazier added.
In Game 7 of the conference semifinals against the Pacers, Brunson suffered a fracture to his left hand. However, he promptly underwent surgery to repair the damage.
