Tom Brady names his top five teams of the NFL season so far – and heaps praise on veteran QB after superb start

NFL legend and FOX Sports analyst Tom Brady named his top 5 teams in the league, two weeks into the 2024-25 season.

With teams having played two games, several sides have already made a great impression on the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

In FOX Sports’ Tom Brady Power Rankings, their $375million signing named the New Orleans SaintsHouston Texans, and his former team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as the fifth, fourth, and third-placed teams in his ranks.

On top of the heap, Brady had the Buffalo Bills going second and defending champions Kansas City Chiefs leading the pack.

‘They’re definitely not what we would have predicted before the season,’ Brady said. ‘Super Bowls are not won in September but these teams are off to a good start.’

Tom Brady ranked the Chiefs and Bills at first and second, respectively, in his top 5 NFL teams

Brady pointed out how the 2-0 Saints and Dallas Cowboys scored touchdowns in each of the first possessions before New Orleans emerged with a 44-19 win.

Derek Carr has scored 15 straight possessions at quarterback this year, Brady praised. 91 points through the first two games of the season, theyre off to a great start.

The Texans are also 2-0 with second-year quarterback CJ Stroud leading the offense. Brady gave flowers to the defense for stealing the show on Sunday night against the Chicago Bears.

The Bears defense managed to sack No 1 overall pick Caleb Williams seven times to hold Chicago to 13 points.

Tampa Bay avenged their playoff loss to the Detroit Lions with a 20-16 win on Sunday, and Brady credited the Buccaneers defense for holding up.

The Chiefs remain on top of Bradys list after a scrappy win over the Cincinnati Bengals

With the Bills, Brady highlighted James Cooks three touchdowns in a dominant performance over the Miami Dolphins. He then praised the defending champions, who were on top of his list last week.

[It] wasnt their prettiest win against Cincinnati, Brady said. But great teams find ways to win. They had unfortunately [lost] Pacheco with a broken fibula. That may hurt a little bit.

Patrick [Mahomes] only threw for 151 yards, Brady added. But until you beat the champs, theyre still gonna be ranked No 1 in my book.
