The Michigan and USC matchup is certainly one of the most anticipated college football games of the weekend. The defending National Champions were set to take on a Trojans team that only looks to keep improving despite no longer having Caleb Williams.
However, many fans are now calling out the refs in the game for multiple controversial calls going in Michigan’s favor.
The first incident was a failure to call a delay of game on the Wolverine offense during 4th & 1 despite the play clock being at 00 for more than enough time. They wouldn’t score, but it set them up for great field position to score a touchdown two drives later.

However, the most egregious call of the game was yet another 4th & 1 play from mid-field that would be converted on a 1-yard gain, yet many believe the running back was far short of the marker.
Was this a first down for Michigan? 👀

At this point, fans were already convinced the fix was in and that the refs clearly had instructions to let Michigan win.
Bad enough Michigan cheats already, now they got the refs on their side too? https://t.co/a0kKv5Jv5j

“I guess if you’re a long term B1G member they will just give you the call? Along with a 2 delay of games, blind side block, and targeting,” said one comment.
“1/2 yard short and previous 4th down was 2 seconds after click expired. Some real shady officiating in this game helping cheaters Michigan,” added another.
It’s certainly worrying that there are so many controversial calls during one of the biggest games of the week.
Michigan and USC Are Playing Their First Conference Matchup
With USC officially moving into the BIG10, this is the first time the two teams will play as conference rivals.
With how the game is going so far, it seems as though the two fanbases could make this into a major rivalry in no time.
