Nikki Glaser has revealed that she spent close to $100,000 on Taylor Swift tickets over the past two years – and admitted that she would have paid even more money if she had to.
The 40-year-old comedian and host of the upcoming 2025 Golden Globes attended an impressive 22 shows during Taylor’s historic Eras Tour, which came to an end on December 8.
And she admitted that she forked out big bucks on the concerts, but justified her jaw-dropping expenditure with her decision to not have kids.
Nikki told People magazine: ‘I want to be clear that we’re including travel expenses, hotels, and me also flying and putting up everyone that I would invite to go with me, plus tickets, plus merch.
‘I justify that cost because I don’t have kids, and it’s something that I consciously decided not to do.’
Nikki admitted that her decision to not become a mom was ‘something that she struggled with.’
‘It wasn’t the easiest decision,’ she confessed. ‘There was a part of me that was like, “I would like kids,” but it just doesn’t fit in my life.
‘And so in order for me to make myself feel better about the decision, I did look up how much it cost to raise a kid.
‘And so once I saw that number, I thought, “It’s no problem for me to spend this on Taylor Swift.”‘
Nikki is currently dating producer Chris Convy, and the pair have been on and off for the past decade.
Taylor’s Eras Tour is the highest-grossing tour of all time and the first to pass $2 billion in revenue, with more than four million fans flocking to attend from all over the world.
In August, Nikki had an emotional reaction to finding out that the singer was forced to cancel the Vienna leg of her Eras tour in response to a terror threat.
Following news that police narrowly thwarted an ISIS plot to attack one of the 35-year-old superstar’s three sold-out concerts at Ernst Happel Stadium, the comedian shared her devastation in a series of posts on Instagram and TikTok.
Nikki had been en route to see her favorite performer when she got the news.
The stand-up appeared distraught in one image, uploaded to her Instagram Stories, in which she shared Austrian promoter Barracuda Music and Taylor Nation’s statement confirming the cancellations, as she covered her face with her hands.
In a follow-up post, she explained that she had endured a ’32 hour layover in [Washington], D.C., before’ finally heading over to Vienna for the show.
Nikki was confirmed as the host of the 82nd annual Golden Globes in August.
The show – which is the first major award show of the season – will air on January 5, 2025, on CBS. It will also stream on Paramount+ in the US.
‘I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes,’ she said at the time.
‘It’s one of my favorite nights of television and now I get a front row seat (actually, I think I have to host from the stage).
‘The Golden Globes is not only a huge night for TV and film, but also for comedy.
‘It’s one of the few times that show business not only allows, but encourages itself to be lovingly mocked (at least I hope so). (God I hope so).
‘It’s an exciting, yet challenging gig because it’s live, unpredictable, and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars (who also might be getting wasted while seated next to their recent exes).’
She continued: ‘Some of my favorite jokes of all time have come from past Golden Globes opening monologues when Tina, Amy, or Ricky have said exactly what we all didn’t know we desperately needed to hear.
‘I just hope to continue in that time honored tradition (that might also get me canceled). This is truly a dream job.
‘Plus, I no longer have to feel guilty for every TV show and movie I’ve binged over the past year. It was all worth it. (Below Deck: Sailing Yacht Season Four will be nominated, right?).’
