Taylor Swift hasn’t done anything newsworthy of late, but that won’t stop people from constantly talking about her. Earlier this week, comedian Hannah Berner went viral for roasting the Grammy Award winner at one of her shows.
Berner, 33, has her own stand-up comedy on Netflix. It did quite well, premiering at No. 2 on the charts. In her latest stand-up routine, she decided to mention Swift’s love life in the same sentence as Luigi Mangione, the alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO killer.
“Luigi [Mangione] is so hot right now,” Berner said. “Who knew – besides Travis Kelce – that you could become so popular with women by shooting loads into a billionaire?”
Once the Swifties caught wind of this joke, they ripped Berner to shreds on social media. They claim her joke was “outright vile,” albeit most jokes made by comedians are controversial.
“Reducing Taylor to her past relationships is wrong, but doing it in a way that objectifies her is outright vile,” one fan commented on X.
“I’m not like offended by it like i don’t think it’s super disrespectful, i just think it’s unfunny,” a second fan wrote.
Another social media user asked, “Why is it that people can never be normal about Taylor?”
“That’s actually just gross,” another Swiftie replied.
Swift has not addressed Berner’s inappropriate joke. We’re not even sure if she’s aware of it.
Besides, Swift doesn’t need to get involved in this mess. If anything, she’s just trying to relax now that her Eras Tour is over.
Though it sounds too hectic to be true, Swift has performed 149 concerts over the past two years. She has earned a long vacation.

As for Berner, it’ll be interesting to see if this viral joke helps or hurts her career. Some people can’t stand Swift, so there’s a chance she’ll grab a certain audience’s attention.
On the flip side, Swifties are very defensive of their favorite singer and might do everything they can to make life a bit difficult for Berner.
We’ll see if Berner steers clear of Swift next time she unloads a round of jokes.
