Eagles center Jason Kelce‘s wife, Kylie, recently opened up about her experiences with bullying in high school, sharing how she transformed criticism about her 5-foot-10 height into self-acceptance. During a revealing episode of her podcast Not Gonna Lie, alongside guest Drew Afualo, Kylie discussed the challenges she faced as a tall teenager.
“I’m pretty sure I was already 5’10” as a freshman, and let me tell you, the boys were not,” Kylie recalled, describing the difficult environment she encountered. “I got ruthlessly bullied by a couple of people… One of the worst of them was a guy, whose insult was always like, ‘You’re huge, you’re a man.'”
Despite these challenging experiences, Kylie found comfort in her family setting, where her height felt natural—especially given her father’s 6-foot-9 stature. This sense of belonging extends to her current life among NFL players, including her husband Jason and his teammates, where she often feels like a “small girl” in comparison.
“It took me until probably my senior year to be like, ‘Aw, you’re mad that you’re not my size,'” she shared, demonstrating how she learned to embrace her height.
Her story has struck a chord with many who faced similar experiences. The podcast’s comment section filled with supportive messages from tall women sharing their own journeys. “5’11” here. And I feel so seen,” wrote one listener, while another commented, “6’1″ I felt this so deeply, the name-calling, and hated my height. Now I embrace it and am so proud.”
Today, Kylie has come full circle, returning to her alma mater, Lower Merion High School, as a varsity field hockey coach—the same sport she played during her own high school years before continuing at Cabrini University. Now expecting her fourth child, she continues to inspire others by sharing her journey from insecurity to confidence.
