“And, right from the beginning, tried to focus on the things that are meaningful for me: friends, family, work, of course,” Alwyn, 33, added.
“So noise outside of that, I think I’ve done what lots of people who find themselves in the public eye do, which is just try and ignore it.
“If you don’t, and if you let all of that other stuff in, and if it starts to affect you and your behaviour, you’re living from the outside in. And then you’re pretty f–ked.”
The “Billy Lynn” star shared he has “great family and friends” along with “real things” in his life that keep him “tethered to the ground.”
When asked if he would like to move on from the chatter surrounding his relationship with Swift, 35, Alwyn responded, “That’s something for other people to do.”
“We’re talking about something that’s a while ago now in my life,” he continued. “So that’s for other people. That’s what I feel.”
The “Lover” songstress and Alwyn started dating in 2016 and called it quits in April 2023 after Swift embarked on her record-breaking Eras Tour.
At the time, an insider told Page Six their breakup “wasn’t dramatic” and their relationship had “[run] its course.”
In June 2024, Alwyn spoke out about the “difficulties” of splitting with the 14-time Grammy winner, admitting he made “peace” about the rumored reasons behind their separation.
“I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathise and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years,” the “Harriet” star told the Times.
“What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later … it’s suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in.”
He added, “And the truth is, to that last point, there is always going to be a gap between what is known and what is said. I have made my peace with that.”
Swift has since moved on with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
The duo have been dating since July 2023 and haven’t shied away from keeping their romance out of the spotlight since they went public that September at a Chiefs match.
