NFL Conspiracy Theorists Believe The League “Sacrificed” The Minnesota Vikings For A Special Storyline

The Minnesota Vikings’ season is over, rather shockingly, with the NFC outfit having lost to a Los Angeles Rams team that was all about business on Monday night.

Both teams ended up on the road as the Wild Card fixture had to be played in Arizona due to the L.A. wildfires.

Given the damage and loss of life, it’s been difficult for anyone affiliated with the city. It appears the Rams were extra motivated as their defense came out to eat in a 27-9 victory, with a single touchdown allowed.

Some NFL fans, however, reckon it’s all part of the script and that the Vikings were “sacrificed” to push a storyline.

“Small market Minnesota being sacrificed for the story line of how resilient the city of LA is,” an account shared to X in the buildup to the game.

The results likely left the user feeling vindicated, and plenty of others agreed in the comments, with some bringing up the loss to the New Orleans Saints after Hurricane Katrina.

“Weird. Same vibe when they played the Saints after Katrina,” someone wrote.

“Katrina all over again,” another chimed in.

“Hopefully the script doesn’t roll over into the divisional round,” another comment read.

“That’s exactly correct and so obvious. Receipt is the non fumble fumble by Stafford early. Just like fall of 2001 Yankees story,” someone else pointed out.

The Vikings were one of the most impressive teams during the regular season, losing only three games. However, in a matter of days, they went from fighting for the NFC North and a playoff bye to losing on the road as a fifth seed.

Just goes to show how brutal football can be.
