VIDEO: Police Got Involved After Topanga Resident Confronted A Suspicious Hiker In Los Angeles Fire Zone

Police reportedly got involved after a suspicious hiker was seen on a remote road in Topanga near a Los Angeles fire zone.

Persons who live close to the Pacific Palisades fire are naturally suspicious of any strange sightings in the area. One such resident confronted a hiker in said California community and, according to TMZ, police have gotten involved.

The outlet has obtained footage of a heated interaction between the resident and the hiker, whose answers to basic questions were indistinct. The lone individual, who was carrying a backpack, was grilled over where he was going and what he was doing with the bag in a fire zone.

“Definitely not any like lighter fluid or anything of the sort,” he’s heard saying at one point after a question about what was in his backpack.

Police Looking Into Incident After Video Shows Curious Interaction Between Topanga Resident And Unknown Hiker

TMZ claims to have been told by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department that they had seen the video and were looking into the incident.

The interaction took place this Sunday, with the hiker claiming to be lost, having set out to walk to San Diego. That alone was cause for suspicion.

Topanga residents told the publication that the individual was in his 20s, looked to be at least 200 pounds, and was around six feet tall. A man matching this description was also seen in Agoura Hills.

By the end of the video, the resident in question seemed upset and ready to approach the hiker, but what happened thereafter is unknown.
