Just one week ago, Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was on the receiving end of plenty of abuse after dropping a crucial catch in the AFC Divisional game against the Buffalo Bills.
Well this week, the Bills were on the unlucky end of a tight end dropping a pass as they fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.
On fourth down on Buffalo’s final drive, the Chiefs sent a blitz that put pressure on Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
As he backpedaled to avoid the pressure, he heaved up a prayer of the pass in the direction of tight end Dalton Kincaid.
It turns out, Allen’s throw was perfect and sailed right in the direction of his receiver. But Kincaid, the second-year tight end out of Utah, had the ball sail right through his arms and hit the turf to fall incomplete.
That turned the ball over to Kansas City and within just a few plays, they were kneeling out the clock to reach their third-straight Super Bowl.
As a result, Kincaid received plenty of mocking and abuse on social media – in similar fashion to Andrews the week before.
Amongst all the fans screaming expletives into the void, one post on Twitter said, ‘Beat dalton kincaid with hammers.’
‘Dalton Kincaid like 25 with the hairline of an elderly man and he sucks at football lmao hang up the cleats pal,’ read another post.
Another post said, ‘dalton kincaid vs mark andrews who did it worst’.
One NFL fan wrote, ‘Josh Allen just wants to scream “DALTON KINCAID WHAT THE F*** BRO” but is too nice, @_DaltonKincaid sucks A** ill say it for you Josh.’
‘Dalton Kincaid that woulda been one of the greatest plays of all time. Honestly f*** you so much bro lol,’ read another account.
One meme account posted a GIF of Andrews sitting on the bench – furthering the comparison between last week’s drop and this week’s.
Another account posted a clip from the Stanley Kubrick Vietnam War classic ‘Full Metal Jacket’ – where a Marine recruit is beaten with bars of soap in his bed.
