A large group of Philadelphia Eagles fans surrounded and taunted two Washington Commanders supporters in an ugly moment after their NFC Championship win on Sunday night.
The Eagles steamrolled the Commanders 55-23 at Lincoln Financial Field to book their place in next month’s Super Bowl, where they will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of the 2023 showpiece.
After Sunday’s NFC title game, Philadelphia descended into chaos when wild fans celebrating on the streets clashed with riot police, a car ploughed into a large crowd of people and a man was stabbed outside the stadium.
The celebrations also took a terrifying turn when a gun was recklessly fired into the air during the mayhem. Fortunately no serious injuries occurred.
And amid the violent atmosphere in Philly, two Commanders fans were seen being harassed by multiple Eagles rivals after leaving Lincoln Financial Field.
In a clip shared by @NFL_DovKleiman on X, the Washington duo are swarmed by boisterous home supporters as they make their way home from the game.
While shouting obscenities at their rival fans, the aggressive taunting then goes too far when an Eagles fan steals a beanie from one of their heads.
The Commanders fan turns around and holds his hand out to ask for the hat back, only to concede defeat and walk away when his tormentor runs off with it.
NFL fans were left seething after watching the video, accusing the Philly faithful of bullying outside their stadium.
‘There is zero place for this in sports,’ one user wrote. ‘These guys should be ashamed of themselves, but I know they aren’t.’
Another commented: ‘It’s fine to be a die-hard fan, but don’t be an a**hole. This is pathetic behavior. Sore winners are worse than sore losers.’
‘It’s not right. Good natured ribbing is one thing. That’s wrong,’ said a third.
While one simply posted: ‘scum bags’.
The group of Eagles fans’ nasty attack comes just weeks after a Philadelphia supporter was fired from his job for abusing a female Green Bay Packers rival in the stands at Lincoln Financial Field.
Ryan Caldwell, who could be heard calling the woman in question an ‘ugly, dumb c***’ in a video with over millions of views on X, was fired as a business analyst for a DEI-focused management consultancy after being outed on social media.
Caldwell, 45, has also been banned by the Eagles from attending all future events at Lincoln Financial Field following his shocking tirade during their 22-10 playoff win over the Packers.
In the video, he was seen shouting at the woman – who was wearing a Packers beanie – and her fiance from his seat in the row behind.
After a play was reviewed by officials, he was heard taunting the couple. ‘It’s not a touchdown, so you don’t jerk off c** in the air.’
The fiance responded: ‘Ok, well don’t call her a dumb c***.’ That prompted an angry response from Caldwell.
‘She’s an ugly, dumb c***,’ he snapped back. ‘You gonna do anything?’
Caldwell worked for BCT Partners based in East Brunswick, New Jersey. The company boasts on their site they ‘harness the power of diversity, insights and innovation to transform lives’.
The firm denounced the behavior caught on camera as an investigation was launched, before concluding that they ‘decided to part company with the employee.’
While the celebrations turned sour, on the field it proved a night to savor for everyone associated with the Eagles after they cruised past the Commanders in dominant fashion.
Running-back sensation Saquon Barkley stole the show after powering through for another 60-yard touchdown run plus two other rushing scores.
Jalen Hurts also rushed for three touchdowns as the Eagles set up a mouthwatering showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs.
