Travis Kelce Shares the Unexpected Way Taylor Swift Supported Him in the Wake of His Super Bowl Loss

Travis Kelce might have been down bad after his Super Bowl 2025 loss, but luckily he has the perfect partner to help him through.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, returned to his and brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast on Wednesday, Feb. 26, where he shared how his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s music helps lift his mood.

Jason, 37, asked his younger brother if he listens to “sad music” when he’s depressed and Travis, 35, replied, “Jason, the only way you can find yourself in the light is to find yourself in the dark first. Right. I listen to music that is very telling of my mood.”

And while Jason said he listens to “sad country songs,” Travis had a better approach.

“I just listen to Taylor’s music,” Travis said of the Eras Tour performer, 35. “She has something for everything.”

Jason agreed with Travis’ approach, noting, “That’s fair. That’s a good point. No matter what mood, you can find some Taylor music.”

“And how the Eagles broke my heart,” Travis added, referencing the Philadelphia Eagles besting the Chiefs at the Super Bowl.

Swift didn’t just support Travis with her music. The “So High School” singer-songwriter also attended the game earlier this month to cheer on her man in the stands at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

The pair, who went public with their romance in October 2023, have shown up for one another time and time again. Travis attended numerous tour stops on Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour, even taking to the stage with the hitmaker in London in June 2024, while Swift has attended many Chiefs games to cheer on the NFL star throughout his past two seasons.

Travis previously reflected on the Chief’s heartbreaking loss to the Eagles on Feb. 9, sharing his gratitude for the support he received from his loved ones.

“I have a beautiful life,” Travis told Jason on New Heights days after the loss. “I have a beautiful life, man. I have loved ones. I have the most amazing family in the world that supports me in everything that I do, and they were all there, you know, cheering me on and hoping for the best on Sunday.”

Travis has kept his future in the NFL up in the air, admitting that he’s still deciding whether he’ll return to the Chiefs next season.

“I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year, and right now, I’m just kicking everything down the road. I’m not making any crazy decisions,” he said on New Heights on Feb. 12.

Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach also discussed the rumors that Travis is set to retire during an appearance on NFL: The Insiders podcast this week.

Asked if the athlete would return for the 2025 season, Veach, 47, replied, “I think so. We anticipate Travis being back. We’re excited to have Travis back.”
