Travis Kelce publicly expressed interest in Swift in July 2023 after attending her Eras Tour concert in Kansas City. On his New Heights podcast, he admitted he tried and failed to give her a friendship bracelet with his number on it. That playful moment seemed like the beginning of their connection.
Still, Swift later confirmed to TIME in December 2023 that they had already started seeing each other shortly after his podcast mention.
Bergmann, however, suggests the timeline may have stretched even further back. “I was like the first person to know about any of this stuff,” he said on the podcast. He even attempted to tell co-host Michele Fitzgerald about the budding romance months before Taylor Swift made her game-day debut. “She didn’t believe it. She was like, ‘She only goes for artists.’”
While the exact start date remains unclear, one thing is certain, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce kept their relationship under wraps for a while. Even Kelce’s family wasn’t immediately in the loop. Kylie Kelce, his sister-in-law, recently revealed on Call Her Daddy that she and her husband, Jason Kelce, knew before the public but weren’t clued in immediately.
