Stephen A. Smith is one of the world’s most influential sports commentators and analysts. His controversial take on many topics landed him in hot water and earned him notoriety for his outlandishness.
Recently, Smith entered the political commentary group. Not only is he now giving his own opinions on politics, but there have been hints that he may be running for President of the United States in the 2028 election.
Of course, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is one of the biggest names in politics right now, other than Donald Trump. This comes after their heated back-and-forth in the Oval Office this past week.
Zelenskyy recently visited the Oval Office in anticipation of a huge essential mineral deal to be agreed upon and signed between the US and Ukraine. However, it didn’t go to plan as evidenced by the reactions from both sides.
Candice Owens Gives Stephen A. Smith Background On Zelenskyy
During a recent interview on his podcast, Stephen A. Smith hosted Candice Owens, who is not shy about anything she talks about. She told him about Zelenskyy and commented on the decision not to wear a suit to the White House.
“This dude has been wearing military clothes for like five years now. Put on a suit! As soon as he gets out the car Trump was like ‘oh look he’s dressed up’. This should let you know, and should signal to the public, that this is an act,” she said.
She continued by adding, “This guy has been on the cover of Vanity Fair, he’s been on the cover of Vogue, he’s been on the cover of Forbes, he’s doing photoshoots, he did a three-hour podcast with Lex Freeman, he asked and was declined a spot to go to the Oscars a couple of years ago. This is making a mockery, put on a suit!”
Smith was shocked by Owens’ outburst on the show, saying, “I didn’t know he tried to go to the Oscars, I didn’t know he was on the cover of Vogue, I didn’t know that stuff! I honestly didn’t know. Okay, that does change it. What I will say is there is some sympathy for the fact Russia invaded his nation. We see the rubble, we see the catastrophe that is Ukraine, we’ve seen Putin bombing them for crying out loud.”
Stephen A. Smith’s opinions on Zelenskyy are clearly different than many people’s, however, it seems that he can be persuaded. It’s going to be interesting to see the outcome if he does decide to run in 2028.
