Social Media Has Plenty To Say About President Donald Trump’s Comments Comparing Tesla Vandals & Jan. 6 Rioters

Social media is destroying United States President Donald Trump for claiming that Tesla vandals are worse than the protestors who stormed and attacked the United States Capitol Building on Jan. 6, 2021.

Ever since Donald Trump took office on Jan. 20, countless people around the world have protested against Elon Musk and his company, Tesla Inc. Musk was Trump’s biggest donor in the 2024 United States presidential election, spending $288 million on the latter’s campaign.

Many worldwide have started the “Tesla Takedown” movement to protest Musk’s political influence in Trump’s cabinet. While the company’s stocks have plummeted, there have also been widespread reports (mainly in the United States) of Tesla dealerships and vehicles getting vandalized.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Donald Trump labeled the Tesla vandals as “terrorists” and claimed they were worse than the Jan. 6 rioters, per Sara Boboltz of the Huffington Post:

“I view these people as terrorists just like others. When I looked at those showrooms burning, and those cars — not one or two, like seven, eight, 10 burning, exploding all over the place — these are terrorists. You didn’t have that on Jan. 6, I can tell you. You didn’t have anything like that Jan. 6.”

President Trump stated that Ashli Babbitt (a Trump supporter who was shot to death by an officer while rushing to the Speaker’s Lobby) was the only one killed in the Jan. 6 riots.

Trump ignored the fact that United States Capitol Police Brian Sicknick died from natural causes following the attacks after trying to protect the building after suffering two strokes. The medical examiner stated that the attacks “played a role in his condition.”
