Chiefs eye becoming Christmas Day staple with surprise NFL request

Christmas Day playing time is at the top of the Chiefs’ holiday wishlist.

Kansas City wants to be a staple in the NFL’s Dec. 25 slate moving forward and has requested such to the league, The Athletic reported Wednesday, with the Chiefs “expected to be one of the teams to play” on the holiday later this year.

It would mark the third straight year the Chiefs have suited up on Christmas.

The Chiefs defeated the Steelers on Christmas in December 2024.
Travis Kelce and the Chiefs have played on Christmas Day the past two seasons.

The reigning AFC champions defeated the Steelers on the road in Pittsburgh last December — one year after losing to the Raiders at home in front of Taylor Swift, the superstar girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
