The Secret Service, bomb squad and other law enforcement agencies are investigating a “suspicious package” found near the White House, according to multiple reports.
Multiple reporters near the White House reported on X/Twitter that authorities are investigating a potentially explosive package close to the Eisenhower Building by the White House.
Reporters nearby haven’t been able to get many details with police tape closing off the areas around the White House. Pennsylvania Avenue has been shut down by authorities, and the White House has stopped allowing visitors while investigators look into the incident:
Freelance reporter Andrew Leyden shared photos of police activating a bomb disposal robot near the White House and Treasury Building. According to Leyden, police arrested a man and seized his backpack after receiving a call about a suspicious package:
Further details aren’t clear at this time, but we’ll provide more information on the matter when it becomes available. Let’s hope that everyone in the area is safe.
As one of the reporters in the area said, the White House is both the safest and most dangerous area in the world.
Suspicious packages were sent to election offices around the country in 16 states leading up to the 2024 presidential election. Several packages included “white powder”, though some of the substances were just flour.
Donald Trump Entered The White House Again On Jan. 20

Trump also became just the second U.S. president to serve two non-consecutive terms. Grover Cleveland was the only one to hold that feat for over a century, serving in office from 1885 to 1889 and 1893 to 1897.
