Donald Trump has been exposed for blatantly lying during the Eagles’ visit to the White House this week.
The POTUS hosted the Super Bowl Champions at his official residence on Monday, following their win over the Kansas City Chiefs in February. He would have probably preferred it if the Chiefs had come, given that he’s very fond of Patrick Mahomes and picked KC to win.
There’s also the fact that a Chiefs visit would never be in doubt. The Eagles are, of course, a different beast, having stiffed him in 2018. There was also talk of plans to reject an invitation after they won their second ring this year.
While the Eagles eventually announced they would accept an invite should one materialize, several team members, including Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith, opted not to make the trip.
Saquon Barkley, however, was in attendance.
The star running back had spent much of Sunday with Trump, golfing and otherwise, much to the ire of some fans.
Giants Deny Having A Conversation About Saquon Barkley With Donald Trump

While speaking during yesterday’s visit, Trump claimed he warned Barkley’s former team, the Giants, not to let the former Penn State star walk in free agency.
“I was with the Giants and the head coach and some people and I said…don’t lose Saquon. They lost Saquon. That was not good. I called that one,” he declared.
According to MLFootball, Giants vice president Pat Hanlon denied that this ever happened.
In any case, anyone could have told the Giants that allowing Saquon to leave, especially to join an NFC East rival, could only mean disaster.
The running back helped fire the Eagles to a Super Bowl at the first opportunity, and a successful title defense is definitely within their reach.
