Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce found themselves the subject of Kanye West‘s latest diss track as the controversial rapper referenced the loved-up pair during his Vultures 2 album, continuing the 2009 feud.
The 34-year-old old Eras Tour star has currently surpasses West in the music world so is the 47-year-old starting to feel jealous? It could be that way after he and Ty Dolla $ign went after her and her NFL husband in their collaboration, ¥$.
“I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce,” sings Ty Dolla $ign in the song West helped develop and produce, in what fans perceive as a bid to bait their anger as well as West‘s refusal to confront Swift head on.
Fans also believe the Cruel Summer star has already responded by releasing another digital version of The Tortured Poets Department with a bonus track on the same day, attempting to drown out West‘s noise.
Why do Kanye West and Taylor Swift have a feud?
The feud appears to date back to 2009 when Swift was a very young woman trying to launch her career off the ground at the age of 19, when West interrupted her acceptance speech after she won Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The event at Radio City Music Hall in New York City saw Beyonce claim the most awards, but she was outperformed by Swift’s You Belong with Me which took home the prize in that category, leaving West incensed.
“Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you,” West began after seizing the microphone from the teenager. “I’mma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”
He was talking about Beyonce‘s Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), which claimed three awards, but the audience didn’t agree and he was booed off stage before being kicked out of the show. Beyonce graciously gave up her own speech time after winning Video of the Year to allow Swift to finish her own words.
