Haliey Welch, better known as ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl, knows how to keep her name buzzing online.
Welch went viral last summer after using that colorful turn of phrase to describe how best to please a male lover.
From her now-famous catchphrase to receiving strange requests, launching her own merch and podcast, and getting career advice from Shaq to her cryptocurrency controversy, Welch has experienced the highs and lows of being a viral content creator.
Now, she is being rewarded for it.
This week, Haliey Welch returned to her roots in Nashville to receive a golden plaque from the mayor.
Outside of an Ole Red bar, Welch got herself a plaque from a guy who called himself the mayor of Nashville. In reality, he was not the real mayor.
The two of them would then stick that plaque on a wall behind them.
