Kansas City Chiefs star Trey Smith has revealed his first impressions of Travis Kelce and revealed the one thing he ‘loved’ about his teammate.
In the latest episode of the ‘New Heights’ podcast – co-hosted with brother Jason – Chiefs star Kelce was joined by Smith, who reflected on their early interactions.
The 26-year-old said: ‘One thing that I can speak about — especially as a sixth round draft pick, a young guy — was just how kind you were, bro.
‘And you don’t have to be that way. You really care for people and you’re not afraid to give out your heart, right?’ he said. ‘So I think that’s the part that stood out to me.
‘Like, you still make time for people. You still care for people. To me, that speaks volumes [about] a person… You never mistreated me or wrote me off or anything’.
In response, Kelce said: ‘It means the most coming from you, brother.’

The older of the Kelce brothers, Jason, then insisted that ‘everybody remembers’ their first reaction for Travis. Smith agreed and detailed incident where he labelled his Chiefs team-mate as a ‘psycho’.
Recounting a specific match against the Cleveland Browns, Smith said: ‘The one thing that I loved… it might have been my first game. You scored a touchdown.
‘I’m slapping your helmet in the end zone ’cause you’re just psycho, bro. You know what I mean? I love it. Any time Trav’s getting the guys going, I’m feeling it, bro. Let’s get this thing rolling’.
Smith has spent his entire NFL career with the Chiefs after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL draft.
However, the Chiefs have since placed a non-exclusive franchise tag on the guard.
Kelce, meanwhile, made headlines after packing on the PDA with girlfriend Taylor Swift as they reached a major milestone in their high-profile romance.
The couple sent fans wild earlier this week when they made their first joint appearance at an event during the NFL star’s Tight End University in Nashville.
