Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has made a massive personal revelation following another brush with the law.
The former professional baseball player was arrested for driving while intoxicated a week before the Chiefs played the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl in February.
However, he was able to make it to the game in Las Vegas after posting a surety bond of $1,000 and watched his son put in another MVP performance to win a second consecutive title.
According to records obtained by US Weekly, Mahomes Sr., who was recently busted for driving with an invalid license, has been arrested for DWI six times. But it appears he’s made a massive change as he’s taken to Instagram to reveal he’s now sober, which has been the case for six months.
“I would like to Thank my God wife family and friends for 6 months on the sunny side of the road. I know it’s been hard getting to know sober Pat but it’s well worth it. Trisha Mahomes thanks for all you do,” he wrote in a post.

The news was well-received, as expected.
“Love you and proud of you, Pat,” NFL agent Chris Cabott wrote in the comments.
Former MLB pitcher LaTroy Hawkins also chimed in. “My brother!! All the way up from here! Happy for you and incredibly proud of you! 👊🏾🦾👊🏾,” he wrote.
“Well done Pat Sr! Keep going 👏,” a Chiefs fan said.
“HUGE congratulations!” another user added. “That’s hard work. You’ve got this & so happy you have such a great support system.”
