The Buffalo Bills became the latest to show honor to Charlie Kirk, and not everyone was happy about it.
The NFL has continued to change its stance on Kirk after initially not releasing a statement on his death.
The Bills welcomed the Miami Dolphins to Highmark Stadium. Prior to Thursday’s game, and before the players would play, the team from Western New York played a 20-30 second video of Kirk on its big screens throughout the stadium.
Several images featuring the popular conservative youth organizer flashed across a large video screen.
The Bills became the 10th NFL team to honor Kirk, joining the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans, and Arizona Cardinals, which did so in Week 2.
The other teams that did not honor him were the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, and Las Vegas Raiders.
“Why the hell would the state of New York lower the flags for Charie Kirk? Keep spewing Christo fascist nonsense & you will lose by a landslide, one person said in response.
“Keep politics outta sports, also, charlie kirk is not that special. Stop crying over him already, the only people that should be mourning is his family,” a second person wrote.
Charlie Kirk’s Wife Takes Over
Erika Kirk will be the CEO and chair of the board of Turning Point USA, the nonprofit founded by her late husband.
Turning Point USA said in an X post this week that its board unanimously elected Erika Kirk as its new CEO and chair of the board.
“In prior discussions, Charlie expressed to multiple executives that this is what he wanted in the event of his death,” the group said in its announcement.
In addition to serving as CEO, Erika will also chair the group’s board of directors.
She alluded to this during a fiery speech, in which she promised to “make Turning Point USA the biggest thing that this nation has ever seen.”
Erika Kirk is scheduled to appear alongside President Donald Trump and other elected officials at a memorial service for Charlie Kirk on Sunday.
