A lip reader has revealed what Donald Trump said to Elon Musk during their brief chat at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service on Sunday.
The former best buds were seen speaking and shaking hands at the event, which was held at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, just under two weeks after the conservative activist was killed in Utah.
Video footage of Trump and Musk went viral on Twitter/X, and a lip reader has detailed their conversation.
The President is said to have asked Musk, “How are you doing?” adding, “So Elon, I’ve heard you wanted to chat.”
According to the lip reader, Trump said, “Let’s try and work out how to get back on track,” when he leaned in.
Musk, who was seen nodding in response as Trump tapped his hand, said, “I’ve missed you.”
Trump later told reporters, “Elon came over and said hello… we had a little conversation. We had a very good relationship, but it was nice that he came over.”

Musk would also repost a photo of himself and Trump sitting together, which was initially shared by the White House’s official X account, captioned “POTUS x @ElonMusk. For Charlie.”
Donald Trump and Elon Musk were pretty tight heading into the 2024 election, but fell out in June this year after the SpaceX and Tesla CEO criticized the President’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which he referred to as a “disgusting abomination.”
Trump shot back by threatening an investigation into Musk’s companies, calling him a drug addict.
Musk then suggested that Trump should be impeached while teasing the formation of his own political party. But he hinted that things were cooling when he commented on the president’s playful Cracker Barrel tweet earlier this month.
Although the former allies haven’t declared a full reconciliation, it certainly appears that they are over their spat.
