Alabama College Football Player Arrested for Stabbing Multiple Teammates in Shocking Attack Hours Before Game

Daniel Israel Mincey, a University of Alabama at Birmingham football player, was reportedly arrested on Saturday morning following a stabbing incident in which two other players were hurt.

According to local reports, the stabbings occurred on Saturday morning, before the Blazers were scheduled to play South Florida.

WTTM13 reports that the victims were rushed to the UAB hospital and are in stable condition.

The game proceeded as planned at 2:00 local time.

“We’re grateful to report that two players injured in an incident this morning at the Football Operations Building are in stable condition. Our thoughts are with them and their families as they recover,” the school said in a statement.

“The suspect – another player – remains in custody, and an investigation is taking place. The team elected to play today’s game. UAB’s top priority remains the safety and well-being of all of our students. Given patient privacy and the ongoing investigation, we have no further comment at this time,” the statement adds.

Daniel Israel Mincey Charged With Serious Offenses

Daniel Israel Mincey transferred to the university after a redshirt year as a freshman at the University of Kentucky.

He was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder on Saturday afternoon. However, there has been no confirmation of the arrest being related to the stabbings mentioned above.

They follow the tragic reports of a college football star dying in a car crash at just 20 years old earlier this week.

The UAB Police Department and Public Safety are investigating the matter.
