Harrison Mevis will want to listen to this.
NBC Sports tried to censor Divisional Round hero Harrison Mevis’ postgame interview with Melissa Stark, and their efforts were nothing short of comical.
Harrison Mevis sent the Rams to the NFC Championship Game with a 42-yard field goal in overtime against the Chicago Bears. His game-winning kick came minutes after Kamren Curl’s clutch interception off of Caleb Williams.
Melissa Stark interviewed Mevis after his heroics. Apparently wanting to censor something Mevis said, NBC Sports went the strangest avenue possible by playing some gibberish over his answer:
According to CJ Fogler, Mevis said “sh*t” during the interview. Hey, as strange as the gibberish choice was, we suppose it got the job done for NBC Sports.
The Rams signed Harrison Mevis in November while Joshua Karty continued to struggle. Mevis made 12 of 13 field goal attempts in the regular season and made all 39 of his extra point attempts.
Mevis has been perfect in the postseason, too. And now the 23-year-old is one step away from the Super Bowl. His Rams visit the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game next week.
