Lip readers believe they’ve detected a ruthless message from New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr to Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn during Sunday’s blowout win at the Caesars Superdome.
Derek Carr and the Saints made easy work of their NFC South rivals, cruising to a 47-10 victory in the season opener. Carr had one of his best performances as a Saint, completing all but four of his 23 pass attempts for 200 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.
Cameras caught Carr and Horn exchanging words in the waning seconds of the third quarter, with the Saints up by 27. Lip readers on social media believe Carr told Horn, “What are you talking about? I got three touchdowns on you.”

“I GOT THREE TOUCHDOWNS ON YOU!”

With the victory, Derek Carr is now 5-0 in his career against the Panthers with a 69.28 completion percentage and eight touchdowns against three interceptions.
Horn was in coverage on Rashid Shaheed’s 59-yard touchdown that opened the scoring early in the first quarter. The 2021 first-round pick had one tackle in Carolina’s season-opening loss.
There weren’t many bright spots for the #Panthers this week but Jaycee Horn had a nice day against Olave for the most part… Nice run fit here against Shaheed pic.twitter.com/eS7xC0LrBP

Horn has been one of football’s best shutdown corners since entering the league in 2021. Unfortunately, injuries limited the South Carolina product to 22 total games over his first three seasons, including nine games combined in 2021 and 2023.
If Carolina is to build off last year’s disastrous 2-15 season, they’ll need Horn to stay healthy, and for the rest of the young defense to step up.
Derek Carr & Saints Look To Keep Momentum Going In Dallas
Carr and the Saints will try to improve to 2-0 for the second straight year on Sunday when they visit Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.
Sunday will be the Saints’ first visit to Dallas since the 2018 season, where Dallas pulled off a 13-10 victory on Thursday Night Football. Carr is 1-1 in his career against the Cowboys, winning the last meeting in Dallas during the 2021 season.
