Football fans are teeing off on the Carolina Panthers after a fan exposed the team for selling stale food at the Bank of America Stadium.
The Carolina Panthers’ 2024 home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday afternoon was nothing short of disastrous. The Panthers put up little fight in a humiliating 26-3 loss that saw a) Bryce Young get booed after an interception and b) fans leaving for the exits early after another uninspiring effort.
As if team owner David Tepper wasn’t already unpopular enough among Carolina fans? One spectator for the Panthers-Chargers game told the ML Football X/Twitter account that the team was selling potato chips that expired days earlier, and that they noticeably tasted stale:

And social media wasted no time seeing off on Tepper and the Carolina Panthers for this embarrassing issue:

On Monday afternoon, it was reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that Carolina head coach Dave Canales has decided to bench Bryce Young in favor of veteran Andy Dalton. The Panthers visit the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Ever since David Tepper purchased the Carolina Panthers and took over as their owner in 2018, the team has gone a woeful 31-70-0. They finished with five wins or fewer in four of his first six seasons as owner, going no better than 7-9 in 2018.
Carolina Panthers Have Hit Rock Bottom
Making things worse for the current state of the Panthers is the fact that they gave up a king’s ransom to the Chicago Bears to move up and take Bryce Young first overall in 2023. They could have taken Houston Texans star CJ Stroud (he went No. 2 overall) or Chicago Bears rookie, Caleb Williams, the No. 1 pick of 2024.
The only silver lining amid this dumpster fire is that the Panthers own their 2025 first-round pick. So if they give up on Young, GM Dan Morgan will have the opportunity to draft a top QB prospect next April.
