Happy Gilmore 2 co-star Travis Kelce isn’t the only member of his family breaking into the movie business.
Travis and Jason’s mother Donna will be cameoing in two upcoming Hallmark Christmas movies that are – somewhat predictably – football themed.
True to form, she won’t be playing favorites between her sons, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis and recently retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason.
‘Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story’ revolves around a ‘fan of the year’ contest for the team, while ‘Christmas on Call’ features a die-hard Eagles fan who helps his love interest get to know Philadelphia, according to a release from the Hallmark Channel this week.
While Mama Kelce is no stranger to the camera, having appeared in Jason Kelce‘s documentary and many a gameday photo, the two movies mark her acting debut. In ‘Holiday Touchdown,’ she plays the manager of a barbecue restaurant.
And while it’s unclear whether she’s playing a character or herself in ‘Christmas on Call,’ her role is to ensure one of the leads ‘orders her Cheesesteak the authentic way – ”whiz wit.”’
The cameo announcements follow Travis own forays into Hollywood – having hosted Saturday Night Live in early 2023, before his relationship with Taylor Swift sent his profile stratospheric, hes now set to act in Ryan Murphys Grotesquerie and host Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? He also earned his first producer credit this year.
Jason, meanwhile, has joined ESPN as an analyst. Hell also have a song in one of his moms movies: Christmas on Call will feature Santa Drives an Astrovan, by The Philly Specials – also known as Jason Kelce and Eagles players Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson – featuring Mt. Joy, the release said. Its from an upcoming album from which proceeds will go to the Childrens Crisis Treatment Center and Children´s Hospital of Philadelphia.
An insider reportedly close to Travis told The Sun: ‘Other channels and TV groups have been showing interest for some time now and a decision is expected to be taken soon as there are many projects on the table for her.
‘It’s something similar in a way to her sons – she has tons of opportunities and many offers on the table.
‘So she has tons of choices to make for the next steps of her career.’
Donna recently signed a deal with baking company Pillsbury and also has a wine deal with Barefoot, setting her up perfectly for a new endeavor in the world of food and drink.
She has spoken regularly about her love of baking, and famously made cookies for both of her sons ahead of their Super Bowl matchup against each other in 2023.
‘I do love to bake, and I bake a lot,’ she previously said in an interview with The Today Show.
‘I bake cookies, blueberry muffins, whatever is easy to travel. I also have my cookies that I take, baked brie, things like that.’
