By headlining at the Super Bowl halftime show, many believe that Kendrick Lamar has unequivocally defeated Drake.
Kendrick Lamar will perform at the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime show in New Orleans on February 9, 2025.
The 17-time Grammy-winning rapper announced the news earlier this week.
The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar might have calmed down since “They Not Like Us,” but it is certainly not over.
There have been conflicting reports about whether Drake has ever turned down a chance to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
During a recent podcast appearance, a prominent record executive decided to dispel all the hearsay and tell the truth.
“I will confirm. Drake was offered the Super Bowl twice,” said top record exec Steve Stoute, speaking on “The Pivot” podcast.
“Drake did turn down the Super Bowl twice. I’m sure if he would have said yes, he would have brought Lil Wayne out at some point.”

The same thing was said a few days ago when co-host Jamil “Mal” Clay from the New Rory & MAL podcast claimed that Drake had turned down performing at the Super Bowl several times. According to Mal, the Toronto artist was asked to do it four different times.
“Drake has been offered this Super Bowl show for some years now and has turned it down,” said Clay. “Probably four years, he’s been offered to perform at the Super Bowl, but he said no for whatever reason.”

Last week, Kendrick Lamar made it clear that he was not finished with Drake when he released an untitled diss track directed toward his fellow rapper and continued their beef.
The song was shared on his Instagram with a photograph of black Nike Air Force Ones.
Previous Bloomberg Report Claimed NFL Sources Said Drake Was Never Offered to Perform at the Super Bowl
Earlier this month, a Bloomberg report claimed that NFL insiders refuted Drake being offered the Super Bowl gig, calling it a “blatant lie.”
“There’s a rumor that Drake has turned down the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl multiple times. League sources tell me that isn’t true,” wrote the reporter. “In fact, one of them said ‘it’s a blatant lie.’ I was told in the five years the NFL has been partnered with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, the two parties have never offered the Toronto native the Super Bowl Halftime Show.”
The reporter continued, “Sure, there have also been occasions where an artist has been considered, and there were scheduling conflicts. Drake does not fit in the declined or schedule conflicts categories.”
