Recently, it was announced that Cam Newton would appear regularly on ESPN’s “First Take” alongside Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe. Friday was his first day on set, and he already fits right in.
As part of the shows HBCU roadshow, the crew is setting up at Tenessee State University for the school’s homecoming football game.
Of course, homecoming is a big deal for many schools and students, and Newton highlighted that. “It’s a party, Stephen A. We ain’t worried about class,” said Newton.
That’s when Sharpe chimes in with, “I’m worried about something else, but we can’t say that.”
Newton immediately responds, “Watch out, Michelle,” as everyone on set starts losing their minds.

Of course, Newton is referring to the now viral mistake of Sharpe going on Instagram Live while having sexual intercourse with a woman, who was later revealed to be named Michelle.
Many were worried when the network announced Newton’s hiring, but his personality seemed to fit perfectly with Sharpe and Smith, and this could become an amazing trio that stays together for a long time.
Cam Newton Is Excited For This New Opportunity
Newton has been working within the sports media for a while, but they have mostly been independent sources like his own shows.
This is his first long-term opportunity with a large network, and he will not take it for granted.
“I’ve always brought passion and energy into everything I do, and that won’t change at ESPN,” he said, according to an ESPN press release. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to share my perspective and go toe-to-toe with the best in the business. Fans can expect the same intensity I brought to the field, along with real talk, bold takes, and good fun.”
