Actor Joseph Quinn Details Embarrassing Meeting With Taylor Swift: ‘I Mean it as a Compliment’
Joseph Quinn, the actor behind the beloved, though short-lived, character Eddie on the fourth season of Stranger Things, earned the chance that some of us will only ever dream about when he got to meet Taylor Swift.
Unfortunately, he may have also bombed it—something the rest of us will continue to have coinciding nightmares about.
The A Quiet Place: Day One actor opened up about the encounter, which he describes as tragically “cringe,” on a recent episode of the podcast Happy Sad Confused, hosted by Josh Horowitz.
His interviewer asked about any shameful or cringy memories from his time on the hit Netflix series and, unfortunately, it’s his meeting with the Eras Tour superstar that “haunt[s]” him.
“I met Taylor Swift once,” he revealed, though he didn’t specify when the opportunity arose. But during his brief time with the “Karma” songstress, not much escaped his mouth besides the phrase, “You’re Taylor Swift.”
According to Quinn, she was a great sport about his unfortunate case of foot-in-mouth, complimenting the show, which also features her friend Sadie Sink, who starred in the short film based on the 10-minute version of “All Too Well.”
“Oh, thanks,” he told her, before repeating, “You’re Taylor Swift.”
Of course, he meant it as a compliment, but in the aftermath, he couldn’t help but think how “stupid” it was to say. “But she was very good-humored about it,” he added.
Quinn joked that the two are on “excellent terms” these days, confirming he’s been “forgiven and forgotten.”
