NFL fans are comparing New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler to Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry after a photo of the latter went viral.
Earlier this week, the Saints announced that Spencer Rattler will make his NFL debut against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Starting QB Derek Carr is out indefinitely after suffering an oblique injury in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Following news that Rattler would get the start against Tampa Bay, fans on social media started comparing the rookie QB to the four-time NBA Champion:

It’s been a unique path for Rattler to the NFL, to say the least. In the early stages of the 2021 NCAA football season, he was considered an early front-runner to go first overall in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Rattler lost his starting job to current Chicago Bears rookie Caleb Williams in the 2021 season, prompting him to transfer to South Carolina. Williams, of course, followed Lincoln Riley to USC in 2022.

Spencer Rattler had two excellent seasons at South Carolina to rebuild his confidence and stock. The Saints drafted him in the fifth round (150th overall) this year, providing more QB insurance behind the injury-prone Carr.
The 33-year-old Carr led the Saints to a 2-0 start that saw them put up consecutive 40 burgers. But the offense has cooled down considerably ever since, and the Saints have dropped three consecutive games as a result.
Spencer Rattler Has A Chance To Earn Starting QB Job
Derek Carr’s expensive contract meant the Saints had to start him at quarterback for Week 1 no matter what. But with Carr sidelined, the opportunity is there for Rattler to snag the starting job and hold onto it the rest of the way.
Could he pull a 2016 Dak Prescott, 2020 Jalen Hurts or 2022 Brock Purdy by impressing enough as a rookie to lock down the starting QB duties? Stay tuned.
