The Oregon Duck started the college football Saturday off with a bang, shooting its shot with a Hollywood star.
Fortunately for the mascot, its crush did respond back.
However, it didn’t end up turning out in its favor.
During ESPN’s “College GameDay” broadcast, as the crew and special guest Kaitlin Olson made their picks for the day, the Oregon Duck held a sign that read: “Sydney Sweeney call me back.”
The American actress who is known for her roles in “Euphoria” and “Anyone But You,” saw the sign as it went viral.
She then responded on her Instagram story.
“Sorry. Changed my number haha,” she wrote over a screenshot of the sign on the broadcast.
It was a big risk on a big day for the Duck, whose team still has a huge matchup on Saturday night.
Oregon, now in the Big Ten, is preparing for a matchup with 5-0 Ohio State in a clash of unbeaten teams.
It’s the first time a top-five matchup will take place inside Autzen Stadium as the teams vie for a top spot in the conference.
The picks from the “GameDay” crew were split — 3-3 across the panel of six — with Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, and Olson taking Oregon while Nick Saban, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit took Ohio State.
