Aidan Hutchinson’s sisters react to Lions star’s frightening leg injury: ‘Please pray’

Aidan Hutchinson’s sisters asked for prayers Sunday after the star Lions defensive end suffered a horrifying leg injury in the third quarter of Detroit’s 47-9 win over the Cowboys.

Aria and Mia Hutchinson reposted an Instagram message from the House of Hutch, Hutchinson’s brand and nonprofit partner, on their Stories that read: “Please pray for Aidan” after he suffered a broken tibia.

The post featured a photo of the Pro Bowler, who was selected No. 2 overall by Detroit in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Hutchinson suffered the gruesome injury early in the third quarter of the Lions’ romp over the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

The 24-year-old injured his left leg on a play where he sacked Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and his leg got tangled up with Lions defensive tackle Alim McNeill.

Hutchinson was then carted off the field with his left leg immobilized and was taken to a local hospital, where he underwent immediate surgery.

Lions coach Dan Campbell said Hutchinson would remain hospitalized overnight in Dallas after undergoing surgery.

Campbell also told reporters Hutchinson would have been a top candidate for Defensive Player of the Year when he delivered the news of the athlete’s broken tibia.

Although Hutchinson’s 2024 season is done, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport delivered an encouraging update about his status for 2025.

“While Aidan Hutchinson’s broken tibia is obviously season-ending, the early prognosis is that being ready for 2025 shouldn’t be an issue. All things considered, that’s good news,” Rapoport reported on Sunday.

Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone, who has a close friendship with Hutchinson, said they had an emotional exchange before Hutchinson was carted off the field and taken to a local Dallas-area hospital.

“It’s just an emotional moment — You don’t really remember what you say or whatnot, but it’s just one of those guys,” Anzalone told the Detroit Free Press. “I have a really close relationship with him and to see the emotion in that moment and to lock eyes in someone with someone in that type of situation is tough, but you’re just trying to show that you’re there for them and that you’re thinking about them.
