VIDEO: Steelers WR George Pickens Accidentally Spills The Beans On Which QB Is Starting vs. Jets, Despite Mike Tomlin’s Plan To Keep It A Secret

Steelers wide receiver George Pickens played the role of a blabbermouth ahead of his team’s fixture vs. the Jets this Sunday.

The Steelers are of particular interest heading into Week 7, given the new competition for the starting quarterback role with Russell Wilson now fit again.

Wilson had been sidelined with a calf injury from training camp but has fully recovered. Despite Justin Fields performing well and firing the team to a 4-2 record, his role is now under threat.

Head coach Mike Tomlin refused to name a starting QB when he spoke to reporters on Friday, looking to keep his cards close to the vest ahead of Pittsburgh’s next test. However, Pickens wasn’t as protective of the coach’s plans.

The wideout was asked whether Wilson was working harder as he’s in the running to start while speaking to the media.

“Yeah, getting on the same page after practice, throwing,” he replied, per Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com. “More than usual, because this is his first start.”
