With almost the entire population of America waiting for Noah Lyles’ triumph in Paris, there was one who seemed skeptical. After winning the men’s 100m gold medal, the entire nation had zero doubts on Lyles’ athletic prowess. But Tyreek Hill was not one of them. He believed that Noah Lyles could very well be beaten!
Thus, the NFL star immediately challenged Lyles to a race to determine who the real fastest man was. And while this gave rise to a frantic back and forth, here’s a full rerun about the ongoing feud between the two five star athletes.
What Happened Between Noah Lyles And Tyreek Hill?
Noah Lyles has been taking shots at some of the popular sporting leagues of the USA. Targeting the NBA and NFL, the Olympic gold medalist made some controversial comments. On one such instance, the 27-year-old mocked the NFL athletes. He stated that the Super Bowl winners are not exactly the World Champions. At the most, they can be termed as the champions of America.
Such a comment did not sit well with the Miami Dolphins’ wide receiver. Reacting to the incident on Kay Adams’ show, Hill claimed that he was faster than Lyles. The flanker also announced that he could easily beat the Olympic gold medalist in a 100m dash. Now, given the showman Noah Lyles is, he was quick to respond.
Lyles said that he did not know Hill’s full name and that everyone wanted to get famous by running with him. Lyles even called Tyreek Hill a “clout chaser,” to which Hill wanted the Olympian to sign a contract. Finally, after a significant back-and-forth between the two, the race has finally been made official.
However, as per the rumors, the event will not be a 100-meter race but a probable 60-meter dash. Despite all the rivalry, Hill found Lyles by his side when an unexpected controversy surrounded the Dolphins’ star.
Why Did Noah Lyles Support Tyreek Hill?
Tyreek Hill was trying to attend his NFL match a few days back. However, much to his surprise, the Dolphins’ wide receiver was pulled aside by the police and was charged for overspeeding. Surprisingly, the officers could not identify Hill and pinned him on the ground face-first before arresting him. With the entire incident caught on Hill’s dashcam, the entire community went off in disgust.
Taking a shot at the authorities’ inability to protect the people of color, Lyles said, “What if it wasn’t him. This is what they do to us when they feel they might get in trouble. What do they do to us when they know the won’t get in trouble.”
“Everybody wants to race the ‘Fastest Man.’ I didn’t grab this title because it’s easy.”

Further, on being asked why he was supporting Hill, with whom he was running a feud, Lyles said, “I mean, two scenarios are different, you know, one has to do with being a human right (on Hill’s controversial arrest), and the other one has to do with sports.” Thus, sharing a bond of love and hate, all eyes will be on the upcoming clash between Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill to see who the real cheetah is.
