Jameis Winston delivered a powerful message in his post-game interview with CBS’ Amanda Balionis after leading the Cleveland Browns to a stunning upset win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
With Deshaun Watson suffering a season-ending Achilles tear last week, Jameis Winston got his first start as a Brown. The 2015 first-overall pick threw for 334 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in a 29-24 win over their AFC North rivals.
An emotional Winston had an inspiring post-game message in his interview with Balionis. He started out by expressing his gratitude towards Jesus before crediting his teammates and Browns.
Finally, he quoted Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” hit song:
And NFL fans were loving Jameis Winston’s epic post-game message:
With the victory, the Browns finally ended a painful five-game losing streak. At 2-5, the playoffs are still well out of reach for Kevin Stefanski’s squad, but at least they finally got competent quarterback play today.
Jameis Winston Should Have Been The Starter Earlier
The Browns made a ridiculous decision to stick with Watson before his season-ending injury last week. Winston is a high-end backup who showed some promise during his days in Tampa Bay and New Orleans.
Cleveland waited too late to give Winston a shot. They won’t make te playoffs because of their loyalty to Watson, but if Winston keeps playing like this, they may have their long-term option behind center.
