Baby Swiftie on board: She saw Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ twice… during two separate pregnancies

A Swiftie mom loves Taylor Swift so much that she attended her concerts while pregnant … twice.

“I’m an original Swiftie,” Rachel Cundiff Youde, who is 19 weeks pregnant with her second child, tells TODAY.com. “I was in middle school when she first became famous and I’ve been obsessed with her since then.”

Youde, an attorney in Maine, has not let pregnancy stop her from attending two Eras Tour concerts in Massachusetts and Florida, she conveyed in a TikTok video captioned, “I only go to the Eras Tour when pregnant.”

Swiftie moms chimed in on the post:

  • “The first Eras Tour show I went to, my youngest baby was four months and I pumped for him at the show. He will turn 2 on the weekend I go again.”
  • “Just went to Miami (show) at 31 weeks pregnant.”
  • “I was pregnant with my daughter during The Red Tour … I was pregnant with my son during 1989 (World Tour) and my other son during the Reputation (Tour).”
  • “I was 36 weeks pregnant for London night 1 … and then 7 weeks postpartum for London night 5.”

When Youde was 37 weeks pregnant with her daughter Charlotte in May 2023, she saw Swift perform at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Youde purchased tickets in her first trimester.

“I did the math and figured that I would be 37 weeks … but I really wanted to go,” says Youde. With her doctor’s approval — and a plan to give birth at a local hospital if she went into labor at the concert — Youde brought along her maternity bag and a car seat.

Pregnant Woman Taylor Swift concert

Some Swifties have come close to giving birth at Eras Tour concerts.

The night that Youde saw Swift play, another fan went into labor in the parking lot of the Foxborough venue, giving birth at a nearby hospital, according to local news station WPRI.

And in 2023, shortly after one of Swift’s Ohio shows, pregnant fan Tori Hedges started labor. She was transported from the concert venue to a hospital where she delivered a baby boy.

“People say that I started my new era as being a mother, so leave the Eras Tour and go into my new one,” Hedges said, according to local news station WKRC.

This month, when Youde was 18 weeks pregnant with her son, she flew to Miami, Florida to see the pop star play the Hard Rock Stadium. Youde’s sister bought tickets, not knowing Youde was pregnant.

“She joked, ‘You’d better not get pregnant this time,’” recalls Youde, who is due in March.

A few weeks later, Youde surprised her family by dressing her daughter in a T-shirt that read, “In My Big Sis Era,” an Eras Tour pun.

Youde enjoyed the Swift concert more comfortably this time, being earlier in her pregnancy. Now, she’s incorporating Swift into her birth plan with a playlist of her favorite songs.

“I love how relatable Taylor Swift’s lyrics are; they have gotten me through the best and worst times of my life,” says Youde.

She added, “The song ‘I Can Do It With a Broken Heart’ … is about pushing through a really hard time — I think that’s really relevant to labor.”
