JJ Watt sparks theories he’s set to unretire after being spotted at NFL team’s facility

Fans speculated that JJ Watt would return to football with a preferred destination after he was spotted at an NFL team’s facility for a workout.

On Sunday, the NFL on CBS TikTok page posted a montage of the 35-year-old working out at the LA Rams training facility. In the video, he wore a grey shirt with the team’s logo across the chest.

The page fanned the flame by captioning ‘JJ Watt out here reppin the Chargers,’ with the eyes emoji. The post led to an array of responses from NFL supporters.

‘JJ making a comeback,’ one fan said.

‘He’ll be ready for a playoff run,’ another added.

‘He got a couple games in him! Sign him up lol,’ a third chimed in.

While many met the video enthusiastically, others were skeptical about the return or whether he would end up in LA if he did.

‘If he comes back he’s coming to the steelers,’ the fourth fan wrote.

‘Probably because his brother played for the chargers,’ a fifth commented.

‘He interviewed coach this past weekend let’s not do this,’ objected a sixth user.

Watt retired in 2022 at the age of 33 and fans have consistently called for his NFL return. The five-time Pro Bowl defensive end has also shown off his great shape post-retirement, leaving room for speculation of a comeback.

He previously shared that he would come out of retirement for his former team, the Houston Texas, but only if they needed him.

‘I’m a very fortunate, lucky man. I have a beautiful wife, I have a beautiful son. I’ve had 12 great years in this league and I’m very thankful to have walked away healthy and playing great,’ Watt told SportsRadio 610 in Houston.

‘I told DeMeco [Ryans] last year, I said, ‘Don’t call unless you absolutely need it, but if you ever do call, I’ll be there.

‘And he knows not to call unless he absolutely needs it. This is the last year I’ll tell him that, because I’m not going to keep training the way I’ve been training, but he knows that if he ever truly does need it, I’ll be there for him.

‘I don’t anticipate that happening. They’ve got a very good group.’

While he remains open to lacing up his cleats, Watt admitted enjoying life after the NFL.

‘I very much don’t want that to ever be the case,’ Watt said. ‘I hope everybody stays extremely healthy and they dominate and they don’t need any other bodies.

‘And I just get to watch and enjoy from the couch,’ he added.
