The Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway went viral on Saturday for more than one reason. The final one, which took place at halftime during the ACC Championship between Clemson and SMU, sparked some controversy.
The competition, which offers $100,000 in tuition, saw students Miller and Ajani go head-to-head and was pretty disappointing as the former employed a two-handed chest pass, which has been a go-to for many contestants.
Ajani stuck to the traditional quarterback throw, though his form suggested he was right to stick to academics in college.
Unfortunately for viewers, the modified chest pass won. The players were tied until the clock went down to the final second before Miller scored a buzzer-beater. However, it appears that the ball was still in his hand when the whistle was blown.
