Deion Sanders is excited to have Bill Belichick join him in college football following the legendary head coach’s appointment.
Belichick is set to make an attempt at turning the program at North Carolina around next season, having made the shocking move to the NCAA instead of waiting for an opportunity to open up in the NFL. And Sanders is of the view that the step down will actually be better for the veteran coach.
Coach Prime was a guest on ‘The Pacman Jones Show’ this week and discussed a host of topics, including Belichick’s hire.
“Bill Belichick is Bill Belichick,” he said. “The track record stands alone. No one in the NFL has accomplished what he’s accomplished. Making that translate to college football, I feel like that’s an easier role to come to college football and have success than it is to rekindle that fire he had in New England.”
Deion Sanders Wants To Be Known As Bill Belichick’s Friend
Deion Sanders would add that he isn’t just a fan but counts Bill Belichick among his friends.
“I love Coach Belichick, man,” he remarked. “I’m a fan and not only that, I like to be known as a friend of Coach Belichick. I love what he’s doing, I’m happy about it.”
Primetime also spoke about the buzz a hiring such as Belichick’s will generate around the college game, having done the same when he started at Jackson State and then moved to Colorado.
