“Like Cocaine Bear, but Santa and Ozempic!” he joked.
While Musk previously took Ozempic, he found that “high doses” of the drug made him “fart & burp like Barney from the Simpson’s.”
“Mounjaro seems to have fewer side effects and be more effective,” he told an X user Wednesday when asked why he chose that specific medication.
Both Ozempic and Mounjaro are GLP-1 inhibitors meant to help people with diabetes, but they are often used for weight loss.
The drugs have become extremely popular in Hollywood over the past few years, and Musk has been one of their most outspoken proponents.
The tech founder has argued for the widespread use of GLP-1 inhibitors to fight obesity — a hot-topic issue for the upcoming Donald Trump presidency given Medicare does not currently cover the drug.
“Nothing would do more to improve the health, lifespan, and quality of life for Americans than making GLP inhibitors super low cost to the public,” he posted to his social media platform earlier this month.
“Nothing else is even close.”
Musk first revealed he had shed pounds using a weight-loss drug in October 2022.
When about his “secret” to getting a “ripped” physique quickly, the billionaire replied, “Fasting” and “Wegovy” — another GLP-1 inhibitor.
While it is unclear exactly when Musk first dabbled in the drugs, he seemingly began taking them after “unflattering” photos of him vacationing in Greece circulated in July 2022.
