Football is life.
Patrick Mahomes watched the NFL playoffs in the hospital while waiting for his wife, Brittany Mahomes, to give birth to their third baby, Golden.
“Brittany crushed it,” the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback said during a press conference Tuesday, referring to the former soccer player going through labor and delivery.
“It’s been cool to welcome another baby girl to the family and see how my other kids reacted to her and have a baby sister and stuff like that. So, it’s been a lot of fun.”
Although Patrick, 29, was there for his wife, also 29, during his team’s bye week, he still wanted to keep a close eye on the wild-card playoff games that took place over the weekend.
“It was cool that football was on TV while I was in the hospital,” he said. “So, I was able to watch a little bit.”
When asked whether welcoming baby No. 3 was easier than the first two, the three-time Super Bowl champ gave Brittany all the praise.
“I don’t even want to say that because, like, Brittany’s doing everything,” he noted.
“It was cool that we got the bye [week] just because you can kind of really focus in on just being at the hospital, being in the moment. It’s a special moment that a lot of dads and moms experience. And you don’t forget that stuff.”
Brittany announced on Instagram Monday that she had given birth to their second daughter, named Golden Raye, the day before.
