VIDEO: Patrick Mahomes Was In Disbelief After Teammate Carson Wentz Nearly Suffered A Season-Ending Injury While Simply Walking Onto The Field At Chiefs Camp

On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs kicked off their training camp for the 2024 season, and it almost kicked off in the worst way possible for Carson Wentz.

On Wentz’s first day of training camp, he almost set the plans backward for the team as he almost injured himself by simply walking.

As the Chiefs’ QB group of Mahomes, Carson Wentz, Ian Book, and Chris Oladokun were walking onto the field, Wentz slipped and nearly went down to the ground.

Luckily for him and everyone else, he caught himself before hitting the ground and avoided a major injury.

Patrick Mahomes could be seen in stitches as he stated, “Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? Hey, post that. Post that,” Mahomes said as he pointed to the camera, laughing.

“You gotta post that. You have to post that,” Oladokun added.

Wentz, who signed with the Chiefs during the offseason, played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2016 to 2020. This will be his fifth NFL team and fourth in as many seasons.

He has also played with the Indianapolis Colts, Washington Commanders, and the Rams.

Carson Wentz Signs One-Year Deal With the Kansas City Chiefs

Carson Wentz began his NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles, and although he was a star, it never quite worked out after he tore his ACL.

Almost a month after entering 2024 free agency, the veteran quarterback decided to sign a one-year deal with the Chiefs, where he will become Patrick Mahomes’s clear-cut backup.

He has a resume that includes an MVP-caliber season with the Eagles in 2017, when he threw 33 touchdown passes and seven interceptions.

He was likely well on his way to getting the Eagles their first Super Bowl, but instead, he watched as Nick Foles got the job done.
