VIDEO: Everyone Is Criticizing Paul George For His Intriguing Remarks About Playing For The Los Angeles Clippers

After spending five seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul George has found a new home with the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason. While he has yet to make his mark in Philadelphia, his recent comments about the Los Angeles Lakers have already caught the attention of his fan base.

During a candid discussion on his podcast, “Podcast P,” George opened up about his experiences in Los Angeles. Despite his efforts and contributions to the Clippers, George felt that the allure and history of the Lakers overshadowed his presence.

I think initially, coming back to L.A., that was home when I first came to L.A., but it’s not the same love. When I was in L.A., they were like, ‘Man, you should’ve been a Laker.’ That’s all I was hearing. It wasn’t like no, ‘Yo, welcome to the Clippers.’ ‘We’re happy you’re here in L.A., but you should’ve been a Laker.’ I’m on the B team. That’s how the vibe and the love felt,” George said.

George is coming off his last season with the Clippers, during which he played 74 games. During that season, he averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.3 three-pointers made, and 1.5 steals per game.

The former Clippers star recently signed a four-year, $211.6 million max contract with the Sixers in free agency, after having suggestion from a famous rapper.

Fans React to Paul George’s Comment Regarding His Former Team

Clippers fans are notably upset with Paul George’s recent comments about the LA Clippers team. While the Clippers have never secured an NBA championship, the Lakers boast 17 titles, establishing them as one of the most storied and popular franchises in sports.

Fans struggled to accept his remarks, feeling it was unfair criticism. They expressed their frustration, suggesting that George’s perceived disrespect towards the Clippers reflects more on his own shortcomings than the team’s.

The Clippers invested heavily to acquire Paul George. They sacrificed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, forward Danilo Gallinari, and an astounding seven first-round draft picks. Despite this, George was unable to deliver a championship for the team.

George grew up in Southern California as a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, so his admiration for them was somewhat expected. However, his comments favoring the Lakers over the Clippers came as a surprise and were seen as a slight against the team that invested so much in him.
