The Kansas City Chiefs booked their place in Super Bowl LIX with a 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game, but it did not go without major controversy.
Kansas City’s victory has been marred by controversy due to several contentious refereeing decisions. Officials have come under fire after a series of pivotal calls seemed to favor the Chiefs.
The first disputed call involved Xavier Worthy’s catch being ruled complete despite the replay seemingly showing the ball hitting the ground.
While leading 22-21 against Kansas City during the fourth quarter, the Buffalo Bills leaned on quarterback Josh Allen to make a drive-extending play.
Allen seemed to have powered his way to a first down despite a convoy of Chiefs defenders pushing him sideways.
On-field referees ruled Allen short and upheld their call after a tense booth review.
Just recently, former NFL player Demetrius McCray had his wife recording a video about the game, and his answers were shocking.
Wife: “You think the Chiefs cheated?”
Demetrius McCray: “No.”
Wife: “Did they pay the refs off?”
Demetrius McCray: “No.”
Wife: “So all the calls were legit?”
Demetrius McCray: “Yes.”
Wife: “Did he get the fourth down?” as she asked him about Josh Allen’s fourth down play against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Demetrius McCray: “Apparently not.”
Wife: “Did it look like he did from the TV?”
Demetrius McCray: “No, if you look at it from the other angle, he didn’t. They only showed the back view. If you look at the front view, the ball never crossed.”
The Chiefs Have Once Again Prevailed Against The Bills
The rivalry between the Bills and Chiefs added another thrilling, historic moment on Sunday.
Josh Allen dropped to 0-4 in his playoff career against Patrick Mahomes.
He is still hoping to get his Bills squad to the Super Bowl while the Chiefs are trying to win their third-straight.
