Haliey Welch has laid the blame at someone’s feet after breaking her silence following a mysterious disappearance prompted by the failed launch of her meme coin.
Welch, better known as the “Hawk Tuah Girl,” appeared to leave investors hanging after releasing a coin on the Solana blockchain in December. The value quickly flew to $500 million but then suddenly dropped to a market cap of $60 million, losing plenty of people money.
The overnight celebrity went dark after sharing a single tweet, halting her ‘Talk Tuah’ podcast episodes, and staying off social media.
She finally addressed the scandal in a clip from a leaked episode of the show this week.
She really did appear to start crying, with guest FaZe Banks telling her everything would be okay.
Haliey Welch Confessed To Making A Mistake By Being Too Trusting
Welch then admitted that she made a mistake by trusting the friend of her friend who came up with the idea, especially as he was acting a “little bit weird” on the day of the launch.
Meanwhile, FaZe has blasted Welch’s team, calling them “retarded” and asking her to get rid of all of them after they allowed her to be suckered and then leaked the new podcast episode.
The FaZe Clan founder took to social media to reveal that he agreed to appear on the podcast under the condition that it would not get leaked and manipulate the market, so he was pretty upset over the fact that it did exactly that.
It does appear that this is far from over, but at least Welch has returned from her hiatus and is trying to provide some clarity.
