REPORT: NFL Likely To Go Against President Donald Trump’s Wish With Significant Rule Change

The NFL is reportedly getting closer to implementing a significant rule change that goes against the suggestion of President Donald Trump.

The 78-year-old Trump became the first sitting American president to attend a Super Bowl last month; the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in New Orleans to secure their second Lombardi Trophy in eight seasons.

As a big NFL fan, Donald Trump loves to share his thoughts on the product. He’ll sometimes offer his take on possible rule changes and has raved about superstar players like Patrick Mahomes and Saquon Barkley.

Since the conclusion of the 2024 NFL season, there has been debate about possibly banning the Philadelphia Eagles’ signature “tush push” play. Asked for his take last month, Donald Trump said, “I wouldn’t ban it.”

But on the latest episode of “Scoop City”, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that the tush push ban is “gaining more momentum.” The Green Bay Packers, whom Philly defeated in the Wild Card Round, initially proposed banning the “tush push.”

“I feel like it’s getting more momentum in terms of those opposed to it than I’ve ever heard before,” Russini said.
