NFL Christmas games have always been a ratings juggernaut for the league, so their announcement on the 2025 slate of games is a win-win for everyone.
Per Jon Lewis of Sports Media Watch, the NFL will schedule a tripleheader for Christmas Day this year. Lewis noted that two games will air on Netflix, with Amazon Prime Video airing the other.
As Lewis notes, Dec. 25 falls on a Thursday this year, allowing Amazon Prime Video to broadcast one of the NFL Christmas games. We’ll find out who’s playing on the holiday in a matter of weeks, as the league usually releases the regular season schedule by the second week of May.
Though Christmas aired on a Wednesday in 2024, two NFL Christmas games were scheduled anyway. Netflix aired the Kansas City Chiefs-Pittsburgh Steelers contest at Acrisure Stadium and the Houston Texans’ home clash with the Baltimore Ravens.
The NFL had tripleheaders on Christmas Day during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. In 2022, we got the Green Bay Packers vs. the Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
2023 featured the Las Vegas Raiders’ upset of the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, the Baltimore Ravens vs. the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants vs. the Philadelphia Eagles.
Expect Marquee Matchups On NFL Christmas Games Slate

Given the league’s habit of scheduling Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in a plethora of prime-time games, don’t be surprised if they’re on the Christmas Day slate for the third straight year.
The Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions and defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles are among the other popular and widely followed clubs that may get scheduled for Christmas Day games.
